STATE ROUTE 32 AT BAUER ROAD LANE CLOSURES
PLEASE ALLOW EXTRA TIME WHEN TRAVELING TO/FROM THE DOMESTIC RELATIONS COURT UNTIL THIS PROJECT IS COMPLETE.
A new traffic phase will be implemented on the State Route 32 Restricted Crossing U-Turn (RCUT) project at Bauer Road in Clermont County, with the median crossover closed to traffic early next week.
Beginning Monday, August 9, thru-traffic on Bauer Road at the intersection with S.R. 32, as well as left turns from S.R. 32 East and West to Bauer Road North and South, will be prohibited while crews work to widen the median of S.R. 32 and install new lanes designed for the RCUT. During this next phase of work, the following detours will be in effect:
Northbound Bauer Road traffic will be detoured via S.R. 32 East to the Half Acre Road interchange and S.R. 32 West.
Southbound Bauer Road will follow S.R. 32 West to the S.R. 132 interchange, then east on S.R. 132 to S.R. 222 South to S.R. 32 East.
S.R. 32 East traffic to northbound Bauer Road will follow the Half Acre Road interchange and S.R. 32 West.
S.R. 32 West traffic to southbound Bauer Road will follow the S.R. 132 interchange, east on S.R. 132 to S.R. 222 South to S.R. 32 East.
The RCUT project calls for the elimination of left-turn movements from Bauer Road to S.R 32, as well as the cross-over movement through the intersection. Upon completion of the project, motorists traveling on Bauer Road will be required to turn right onto S.R. 32 and either continue straight or do a legal U-turn at a one-way, signalized crossover to travel in the opposite direction on S.R. 32 or proceed to Bauer Road on the opposite side of the mainline route.
Barrett Paving Materials was awarded a contract for approximately $2.4 million to undertake the project, and construction is anticipated to be completed in late fall.
